Using Apple Airplay on a Roku device. You may mirror your iPhone, iPad, or iMac on practically any Roku device by following the instructions in this post. Using Roku’s built-in Airplay feature is a quick method to accomplish this.
How To Use Apple AirPlay on Roku?
In today’s tech article, I’m going to show you guys how to use Apple Airplay on your Roku device. Well, hey guys, Juan here. I’m going to show you the step-by-step process of how to mirror your iPhone to your Roku.
Roku recently updated its platform so that Apple Airplay is now built into their devices, making it easy to mirror without using any kind of third-party apps or anything like that. Ensuring your Roku is up to date will thus be the first thing you do.
Step 1:
Push the home button on your remote control after grabbing it. If you’re not now on the home screen
Step 2:
Click over to settings by going to the bottom of the screen.
Step 3:
We’ll want to go all the way to the system section and then descend to the system update section. You’ll click on it and check it out right away. It will do it right now if it isn’t running the most recent software.
Step 4:
Click on the home button once again when it has finished updating. the home screen is displayed, and then we’ll descend to settings.
Step 5:
We’re going to scroll down to this brand-new category over here, click on Apple Airplay and HomeKit, and then go on. You can see where it says “airplay on and off” here on your sidebar.
Step 6:
Make sure that is turned on. I only have the needed code for the first time. So, if you click on it, you’ll notice that it provides you the choice to use a password in place of the first time alone, every time, or both.
So that’s all based on preference. I’m going to keep mine for the first time only. And then now that it’s set to first time only and on, you’re going to want to jump over to your iPhone.
You should confirm that your iPhone and Roku are configured to use the same Wi-Fi networks. The local Wi-Fi network they are connected to must be the same. When you move your iPhone over here, you should slide downward in the upper right corner so that your menu icons appear. The word “screen mirroring” is right here in the center. Tap on that if you want to. As you can see, I then have two that appear here. However, it reads Roku or Roku streaming stick on the very top one. If you tap on that, a code prompt will appear. You can see where it reads “four-digit code” on my screen here.
I’m going to type that code into my iPhone. Okay, now that it’s typed in, you’ll see on my iPhone there’s a checkmark next to where it says Roku streaming stick. And then on my TV, you’ll see where it’s mirroring exactly what’s on my iPhone. And then to stop mirroring, you just go down to where it says stop mirroring and then stop it that way.
Okay, now here’s the beauty. Once you are connected, I jump over to the YouTube app here to play one of the YouTube videos. I have the phone tilted in vertical mode, and it’s already playing in landscape mode on the screen. So it’s not like I have to tilt my phone into landscape mode; it automatically detects it and puts it in landscape mode on the screen. And here’s the other wonderful thing: the volume is coming out of the TV instead of the phone because some of these third-party applications would come out through the phone. Let me show you. Subscribe to my channel, and that’s what I’m trying to get you to do right now.
Hi, my name is Juan, and I make videos every week on one of the things that I’m very passionate about, right, and that is tech. As you can see, it all works with your phone onto your TV even when I click the stop button there. I love Apple Airplay.
