Indian Railways New ₹100000 Crore Plan in 2024
Have you ever tried to book tickets in Indian Railways, be it during the season or off-season? It is a common thing for us to see the waitlist. If any plans and discussions are made among you friends that If we go to travel somewhere after a few days, then the option of Railways is immediately removed from our mind because it is generally impossible to get a reserved ticket after a few days and even if they are very important routes, due to this people do not get confirmed tickets despite being ready to pay and there are two problems inside the trains.
Due to this, the first thing that happens is that obviously, if the waitlisted passengers have to travel urgently, then they have no special option left; instead, despite paying the full amount, they will have to travel as a standing passenger at the same time. It is not possible in our country to issue a waiting ticket during the time train. And then if it is not confirmed then you will get the return of the money even after traveling or you will get the money as per the general amount deducted from yours, there is loss of money, obviously railway station earns a lot.
But people are obviously irritated by this and also in today’s date, if we are watching any video, YouTube2 has started reaching the AC level and is almost the price of flight to book tickets. Despite this, the Railways are not able to provide service to the people due to this overcrowding and for this, the Railways have kept an ambitious plan where the Railway Minister has said that they will invest ₹ lakh crores in the construction of new trains within the country. Basically, the number of trains will be increased from 30 to run in a year and due to this a commitment was given.

It has been said that in 10 years people will not understand the concept of a waiting list in Railways and the fact is that Everyone will get confirmed tickets, but can this ambition be fulfilled and how has the government planned it at present? In this video, we will mainly learn about the budget and how it is utilized by the Railways. If we look at the financial year 2324, the allocated budget of Railways in year 70, which is approximately Rs 2.4 lakh crore, has already been allocated. That is, where will this budget go, it has been decided that most of the money here is for infrastructure development, station redevelopment, etc., buying trains, maintaining the tracks, installing safety technology, and increasing the facilities inside the stations. Major Lee has taken these things. This budget is being spent, so this upcoming ₹ lakh crore, money will not come suddenly this year, it will come gradually over time, and the Railways, which is very much in this process, will not be able to take funding from the youth. Generally, the Railways are Which is from our main budget
This Rs 1 lakh crore money will be used, it is spread out for 10 years, so obviously what is here is that there is no immediate need for this money, now what will be done, here they understand that the first step which Railways will do is replacement of aging vehicles. Rolling stock i.e. 7 to 8000 old trains, be it ICF coaches or trains that are not in running condition, will be scrapped. The rakes that are there should be used. Will go and along with it 8000 new trains will be purchased, this will be a massive procurement worth around Rs 1 lakh crore right here.
These are going to be spent and the orders for these will be placed in four to five years. Now the big thing here is that the Railways has obviously not yet come out with the complete details, maybe I cannot give any confirmation here. But it is possible that here we may see railways inviting private companies. To deliver these large numbers of coaches immediately, delivering 7 to 8000 new trains is not a very normal thing, but for this, manufacturing capacity is required and private companies may be required for this.
Should be opened up, secondly, these are the new regs, they will be with better capacity, they will not only replace the old tracks but due to the addition of brand new rates at the time of purchase, the number of trains will increase. Implementation Time Name: Well, the procurement time has been set for 15 years and one stock will be added by gradually replacing the older stock. What does this mean? Basically, it is not that if one train comes, then the other train will be scrapped. If the train is still in condition to run, then as long as it can run, the Railways will provide both trains.
Till then new trains will obviously continue to be built, so the capacity of the railways will be immediate. The rolling stock replacement will increase at the same time, it will happen gradually in time, the next work it will do will be a larger railway sub-grade, now a new train will be built here, so obviously the biggest question that arises here is the capacity. Our signaling systems of railways, our platforms, our trains, whether goods-wise or passengers-wise, already run at a congested level. The more new trains are added to it, the more the delays in passengers increase.
The experience is bad and the speed is less. Railways are the major money makers of the trains, hence they have been investing for the last two to three years in track upgradation, station upgradation, and also safety-related things. Because of this, as New trains start coming, our railway system will pay up, but now that this announcement has been made, the railways will have to do this upgrade work more quickly. The work that will be done is as per the investment requirement of Railways, now this project is worth around lakh crores but according to the Railway Minister, it is Rs 12 lakhs.
Railways need crores of rupees to fulfill all their demands by the year 2030. Now this funding can be done through RLDA, IRFC, and all the subsidiaries of Railways. The government will also do some work at the private level and because of this, Requirements have also been assured that they have been fulfilled. The next work that is being done here to implement this is to track link progress. As I said, work is going on with track upgradation. It is said that by the close of the current financial year, more than 5500 railway tracks will be built within the country. 6000 km of new tracks
Will be available and currently the railway track laying process is going on daily on 16 km. Obviously, this is a big thing, especially if we look at our Northern and North Eastern parts, railway lines are not being built here. So the capacity of Railways has to be increased as per the passenger service and due to the increase in track number, there will be dedicated free corridors for the implementation of the policy to accommodate new trains. You know that Western Dedicated Free Corridor. Almost completely complete except for the eastern section of Maharashtra.
DFC can be said to be complete at 95. According to both, it is around 80. There is completion and the new industrial hubs, and cargo terminals, are gradually shifting to the side of DFC and trains have obviously started running here on a large scale, due to which a large number of normal passenger routes are being diverted from there. -Slowly, goods trains have now started shifting to DAC, due to which more space will be available here to run passenger trains and railways, their last step here is that they will add 3000 new services along with some here.
And small things have also been said, for example, the passenger trains will be maintained locally, the railway information will be used in a better way depending on where they go so that the trains can be run efficiently. Now what is my opinion on this? I want to say that in this video, first of all, according to me, the capacity to be added at 30 in the coming 10 years is very low as per the situation in our country. Migration is increasing. The way festivals are celebrated in our country, 30 is a very low figure because even if we look at normal time.
So, most of the trains are overbooked by 30-40, increasing the capacity to 30 will not eliminate overbooking, but if we go by today’s data only, then the train will say 101, yes, because of this, it will definitely happen that three trains will be overbooked. Instead of booking the ticket, you get it within a month but obviously, according to me, there is demand. Even then it will not be able to be fulfilled at the same time. Another positive thing is that one level of upgradation is going on in the country. I can say this through my own family friends and many people may also relate. Those who started traveling in sleeper class
Now those who are third have shifted to third EC, those who are third are going to second, those who are second are going to first, those who are first are going on flights, and at the same time, aviation is also becoming quite common within the country. its been Due to this, the medium used for traveling is changing within the country, most people did not see any other option for traveling other than trains earlier, and in many places it was the only option, but Due to new airports being built, travel patterns are shifting and many highways are being built at the same time.
This makes road networks possible, for example, traveling from Mumbai to Delhi by bus was earlier impossible. Although some services were available, but no one wants to travel for 2425 hours in a bus, but traveling for 12 hours on an expressway is not a big deal, especially in an overnight bus. We have seen the same thing in such sections where Highways have become better. Earlier there were no buses from Mumbai to Rajasthan. Today, these things will also help the country in the future. What do you think about it?
